Kristina and John’s wedding ceremony and reception at the Stones of the Yarra Valley was all-in-all a classic and elegant affair. This couple’s super relaxed and happy demeanour made photographing them easy and fun.
Kristina + John’s Beautiful Stones of the Yarra Valley Wedding
For their wedding, Kristina and John chose one of the most beautiful venues. The property is not only classy inside but has some of the most magnificent views outside. This historic property is enticing in every manner. It has lovely views of the Yarra Valley, vineyards and century-old oak trees. The property has two superb restaurants — The Barn and The Stables at Stones — with a stunning rough-rendered Chapel and Dairy nestled under oaks. It’s definitely a great pleasure for me to photograph weddings but the addition of extraordinary venues, like this one, increases the excitement manifold.

We began photographing this couple even before they got ready for the big moment. Kristina celebrated with her bridesmaids while John relaxed in his shorts. For the ceremony, Kristina wore a beautiful Elly Sofocli gown. Her lace embellished gorgeous veil, from the same designer, was the talk of the event. She looked ethereal as a bride. John, on the other hand, looked dapper in Black and White. He completed his look with a bow-tie and ivory jacket.
Kristina and John hired some of Melbourne’s absolute top wedding vendors and it was a pleasure to work with them. The styling by the Small Things Co. and the florals in the chapel by Stasia Fox were just marvelous. Blush pink and white roses set the mood of the event. From decor to table linens, everything went in line with the theme. Even Kristina’s bridesmaids gelled so well with the theme in their pretty pastel pink dresses. The groomsmen looked handsome in black.
My personal favorite moment of the day was when Kristina walked into the chapel with her father. The parents of our bride had tears of joy in their eyes as Celebrant Sally Hughes solemnised the marriage. Our newly-wed couple was so happy and cool that it was easy photographing them. They enjoyed the occasion with close family and friends. They kissed and danced. It was fun capturing the couple’s expressions of joy when John’s dad surprised them with fireworks.
Thank you, Kristina and John, for letting me be your wedding photographer. I wish you two happiness ahead!
