Nicole and Julian were married on May 5th, with a ceremony at Newman Chapel at Melbourne University and a reception at the Peninsula Room at the Atlantic Group.
It’s always a pleasure to photograph couples like Nicole and Julian. They had a beautiful nature—all smiles and warmth—that made them easy to be around. When we get clients like this who ooze happiness, it’s not hard to get similarly beautiful images that reflect that inner light. We still enjoy looking back on the fun we had relaxing with the bridal party at a bar in Melbourne called Higher Ground.
We were also impressed with how close both Nicole and Julian are to their families. Wedding photography is always first and foremost about the emotion of the day, so we had no shortage of loving moments and expressions of genuine affection to photograph.
You can see that love especially in the parent dances—all of them wore their emotions so clearly on their sleeves. And that was after Julian’s father had everyone emotional when he gave his speech at the reception. He was too overcome with emotion to finish his speech, so his wife finished it for him. By the time Julian followed with his own speech, everyone was touched to see the tears in his eyes.
An Atlantic Group Wedding at the Peninsula Room
There was no lack of stunning backdrops during this Melbourne wedding. The Atlantic Group provides some of the most unique wedding venues in Melbourne and the Peninsula Room is no different. The stunning décor and absolutely incredible floral arrangements made for an amazing reception. Before the reception, we were able to get some glorious light during a sunset shoot on a rooftop car park. But one of our favourite moments was the breath-taking photo we were able to snap from behind in the church. Nicole stole the show as she walked down the aisle in her Craig Braybrook dress. For all the beauty around us, Nicole shone brighter than all the rest.
Julian & Nicole, thank you for asking us to be part of your wedding day. Weddings like yours—days that are filled with joy and tears—are exactly the reason we love being wedding photographers!
